DISCORSO MUSICA is an Italian radio show aired through Radio Cooperativa, an independent station on regional basis born in 1978, which is currently broadcasting from the city of Padua (Veneto, North-East of Italy).
Radio Cooperativa has always been supported by the donations of its listeners and has chosen to deal with particular themes such as society, peace in the world, ecology, solidarity and culture in its broader meaning.
In line with this choice and originating from an idea of Loris Bertocco, DM was founded in September 1980. The intent of the show is to reflect the musical anxieties which emerged from the diaspora of the post-punk movement and from the seminal traces which would have led to the new-wave movement.
Since then the purpose of DM has been to record promptly the musical forms and styles which will ideally lead us towards the end of this century (this is the reason for Sounds from the end of the century).
Along with this purpose another of DM's objectives is to highlight the contributions to the taste and to those cultural elements contained in music as well as in other forms of artistic expression.
Since Luca Barison came along in 1989, the show was enriched with various parallel activities, like organization of live concerts and contributions in fanzines and local mewspapers.
The last member of DM, Leonardo Zoppei, coming in from the experience of another show of Radio Cooperativa, completed the staff contributing with his ideas to the musical choices.
For all these years, DM has been a constant lighthouse for previews, new releases, interviews and news, in short everything concerning the music universe of: Indie, Techno, Ambient, Hip-hop, Psichedelia, Trip-hop, Acid Jazz, Drum'n'bass, and every new musical style to come.
All was done also thanks to the support of the biggest record companies, which together with the independent ones, found in DM an important catalyst for the most intelligent and innovative productions.
This is why DM decided to offer to a larger public its experience in the musical field, trying to become a little, or a big, meeting point for people always looking for new frontiers or meanings in the musical research.
What we have created for the navigators continues and amplifies the meaning of what we are still doing with out radio show, but, at the same time, it tries to extend the capacity of a musical and critical comparison.
